As part of the Government’s UK-wide drive to improve the accessibility of coronavirus testing for communities, Connah’s Quay Civic Hall will soon become a walk-through coronavirus testing facility.
The Town Council, who own and manage the building, were approached in mid-November for the Civic Hall to become a coronavirus local testing site. Due to its size, location and facilities it was deemed to be ideal for this type of site and the Council agreed for it to be used.
Naturally, the Town Council are disappointed to be losing such an important and well-known venue for its own use – even for a short period of time, but recognise the need to have testing facilities that local people can access.
A Council spokesperson said: “When we were approached about the Hall becoming a COVID testing site, we felt it was our duty to help combat this awful virus and allow the Civic Hall to be used for such an important purpose. We are so proud of the Hall but are equally proud to be helping our local community.”
More details about when the testing facility will open and how to book a test will be made available in the coming days.
